- Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) →
The certification, its exam and its renewal assessment were retired on 31 August 2026. SC-500 covers the nearest equivalent ground and is live, but Microsoft's AZ-500 pages do not state that it replaces AZ-500, so treat it as the current alternative rather than an announced successor. A held AZ-500 does not transfer.
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals →
MS-900 retired on 31 March 2026. It is no longer available to take. Previously earned credentials remain on the Microsoft Learn transcript; do not book this exam as a new qualification.
- Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure (AZ-800) →
AZ-800 retired on 30 September 2026. AZ-802 is the single remaining route to the Windows Server Administrator certification.
- Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services (AZ-801) →
AZ-801 retired on 30 September 2026 alongside AZ-800. AZ-802 is now the only path to the certification.
- Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) →
Retired along with its renewal assessment; Microsoft's certification page carries the retirement notice without restating the date. DP-700 is the live Fabric-based data engineering credential and is the nearest equivalent, but the AZ retirement notice does not name it as the replacement.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals →
AI-900 retired on 30 June 2026. It is no longer available to take. Previously earned credentials remain on the Microsoft Learn transcript; do not book this exam as a new qualification.
