The short version: everything on this site is personal opinion. Read it, disagree with it, test it against your own experience, but do not treat it as professional, legal, financial or career advice.
Affiliate links and editorial independence
Some study-resource links may be commercial links. A link labelled “Ad · affiliate link” means TechWaymark can receive a commission if you purchase through it. The study section also explains when its selection contains active affiliate links. Ordinary provider references and directory listings do not imply a commercial relationship.
We select resources for their relevance to the certification and the learner’s task. Commercial arrangements do not determine certification verdicts, comparisons, resource order or directory position. Free and official starting points remain available where relevant. Payment does not guarantee inclusion or a favourable assessment.
The provider controls its prices, access terms, renewals, refunds and course content. Check those details and the current exam objectives before buying. A recommendation is not a pass guarantee, an employment guarantee or a claim that we have personally completed every resource.
An affiliate destination may use referral identifiers or cookies to attribute a purchase under its own privacy terms. Opening an external resource takes you to a separate provider. TechWaymark does not add affiliate tracking scripts to these guides or send your private workspace content through a study-resource link.
Programme participation must be approved and links reviewed before activation. For a correction, a question about a commercial link or a programme enquiry, contact TechWaymark.
Opinion, not advice
All articles, perspectives, essays and recommendations on this site reflect the personal views and direct experience of the author. They are written as editorial opinion, not as professional career counselling, legal guidance, financial advice, or any other regulated service.
The tech industry changes quickly. What was true in 2019 may not be true in 2026. Career decisions affect your income, location, visa status and family. Do your own research, speak to people already doing the role you want, and verify any claim that matters to you before acting on it.
Accuracy and currency
We publish in good faith and aim to keep content current, but we do not guarantee that any page is complete, accurate or up-to-date. Salary figures, certification requirements, visa rules and job-market conditions change constantly. Treat every number and recommendation as a starting point for your own verification, not a fact to rely on.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author and operators of this site accept no liability for any loss, damage or inconvenience arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything published here. That includes career decisions, course purchases, relocation choices, exam failures, job rejections, or any other outcome.

Privacy & data
This notice covers TechWaymark accounts, My Waymark, paid reports, contact requests and optional measurement. It explains what we hold and how to exercise your rights.
TechWaymark is responsible for the personal information used to run this service. Contact hello@techwaymark.com about your information, a correction or a privacy complaint.
My Waymark accounts and saved work
We hold your account email and authentication records, membership and payment references, and the material you choose to save: career routes, applications, contacts, CVs and other career documents, certifications, study and CPE records, work examples, interview answers, reflections and career cases. These are your own records, not verified qualifications or an employer assessment. Recruiters do not receive access to your personal workspace through membership.
Saving your workspace, an example or a written practice answer stores it against your account without sending that text to a language model. Interview voice recordings stay in the browser and are not sent with AI feedback requests. Downloaded documents and workspace exports may contain personal information; review them before sharing.
Optional AI writing and interview feedback
When the service is available and you explicitly request a suggestion, we send the draft or written answer, selected experience and relevant job advert or interview question to model providers through Lovable. This is separate from saving or editing your work. Remove confidential details first, check the returned suggestions and choose what to use; requesting a suggestion does not automatically replace your saved document.
The processing and model-provider information below also applies to these optional features. It does not establish zero retention, a particular processing location or independent verification of an AI response.
Purposes and lawful bases
- Accounts, requested reports and membership: performance of our contract with you, or steps you ask us to take before entering it. We need the relevant contact, payment and input information to deliver the feature you request.
- Security, fraud prevention and support: legitimate interests in protecting the service and responding to enquiries, using information proportionate to that purpose. Hosting and security systems may process IP addresses and request logs.
- Required accounting and legal records: compliance with applicable legal obligations.
- Optional usage analytics, referral attribution and newsletter subscriptions: consent. These choices are separate from creating an account or buying a product. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe option.
Keeping and deleting workspace information
Workspace information is retained to provide your saved account record until you delete it or request removal. Cancelling renewal or losing paid access does not automatically delete the workspace or the account. You can use the account page to download or delete your workspace without renewing membership. This control does not delete purchased reports, payment records or separate recruiter service records, and it does not cancel billing.
For deletion of the account and other records, contact us. We explain any information that must remain for legal obligations or disputes. Backup copies are separate from the live product; ask us for the applicable backup retention information when making a deletion request. Records removed from the live service must not be put back into use following a restore.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We normally respond to rights requests within one month and explain any lawful extension or exception. We use proportionate identity checks.
Send privacy complaints to hello@techwaymark.com. We acknowledge them within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you informed and explain the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Education
The education pilot has a separate learner privacy explanation. Its institution arrangements and safeguards for learners aged 16–17 need to be agreed before a real cohort starts. Please do not put learner records into a personal career workspace.
Paid report information
- Career Verdict. Your email address, your answers from the guided route, any CV file you upload, and the verdict we generate for you (on-screen and PDF).
- Hiring Reality Report. Your email address, the job spec text you paste, any context you add, and the report we generate.
- CV Evidence Review. Your uploaded CV, contact-redacted extraction, target role, seniority, corrections, email and generated review, including any revised CV you submit for the included recheck.
- All paid products. Standard payment metadata returned by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
Why we hold it
To produce the report, deliver it to your inbox, let you re-download it via your access link, and handle refund or dispute questions.
How long we keep it
Your report, your inputs and your access link are kept for 24 months from purchase so you can come back to them. After that they are deleted and the link stops working. You can request deletion at any time. We respond without undue delay and normally within one month, and explain any records we must retain or any permitted extension.
The 24-month period refers to saved paid reports, not original CV documents. Payment records are held longer only where accounting or legal obligations require it.
Your original document is scheduled for deletion 24 hours after it is read. The exact deletion deadline is shown after upload. The saved report is kept 24 months unless you request deletion sooner, and one recheck stays open for 30 days.
Before purchase, CV extraction records have a separate 90-day expiry. You can delete your upload and its extracted information from the confirmation screen before checkout.
Automated processing and model training
TechWaymark does not use your submissions to train models. Automated report writing sends relevant information to model providers through Lovable. This is separate from saving a My Waymark workspace. Lovable states that data from people using apps built on its platform is excluded from its model training. Processing by its model providers is governed by their applicable service agreements. Retention depends on the model and service configuration; this is not a zero-retention promise.

Third-party information in Hiring Reality Report submissions
Please remove names, email addresses and other personal information relating to third parties (hiring managers, candidates, internal staff) before submitting job specifications or supporting documents. TechWaymark does not need this information to produce a Hiring Reality Report.
Where you choose to submit documents containing third-party personal data, TechWaymark processes that information solely for the purpose of producing the requested report. You remain responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate authority to provide that information.
Who can access it
The operator and the service providers needed to deliver the requested feature may process your information. Saved workspace access is checked against your signed-in account. Report access can use private access links or account ownership checks. Treat access links as confidential: anyone who holds a valid bearer link may be able to open the report.
Recruiter preparation pilot
When enabled, this separate pilot stores the recruiter's account access and sanitised role-preparation briefs. It does not store candidate names, CVs, preparation answers or completion activity in the recruiter workspace. Briefs remain until deleted by the recruiter or through an account/data deletion request; closing an invitation or ending pilot access does not itself delete the brief.
Anyone given an active preparation link can read its role requirements. Links expire after 14 days and can be closed or replaced. Recruiters must remove personal and confidential information before sharing. Closing a link cannot recall copies already downloaded or work already open on a candidate's device.
Candidate preparation answers stay on the current page unless the candidate explicitly downloads a private draft or selected evidence PDF. The private draft includes rehearsal notes; the evidence PDF excludes them. Candidates decide whether and how to share their downloads. A signed-in My Waymark member can choose to copy selected fields from their own saved examples; no recruiter receives access to that personal workspace. This preparation flow does not send the answers to a language model.
Your rights
You can request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing hello@techwaymark.com. You can request deletion at any time. We respond without undue delay and normally within one month, and explain any records we must retain or any permitted extension.
Service providers
Providers include Stripe for payments; Lovable Cloud and its underlying infrastructure for authentication, database, storage and hosting; email delivery services including Resend; the Lovable AI gateway and its model providers for generated reports and requested writing or interview feedback; PDFShift where server-rendered PDFs are used; and Plausible for optional analytics. The providers involved depend on the feature you use. Their processing may take place outside the UK. Contact us for the relevant recipients, processing locations and transfer safeguards before submitting information where these details matter to you.

My Waymark membership terms
My Waymark is an account-based career workspace with the membership features described at purchase. It supports your own planning, evidence and interview practice; it does not certify competence or guarantee employment, promotion or salary. Individually purchased reports and human review are not included unless explicitly stated in your offer.
The available plan and total recurring price are shown before payment. Your selected monthly or annual plan renews automatically until cancelled. Use Account → Manage billing and cancellation to manage renewal, or email hello@techwaymark.com if you cannot access it. Check the confirmation for the date paid access ends. Deleting workspace data does not cancel a subscription.
After paid access ends, the paid workspace tools are unavailable. Cancelling does not automatically erase your saved work. You can still request your information or its deletion; the account page provides a workspace export and deletion control without requiring renewal.
Consumer cancellation and refund rights apply to the service supplied. Contact hello@techwaymark.com to exercise your cancellation rights, including any applicable 14-day cooling-off right. The immediate-supply acknowledgement for a separately purchased digital report does not waive rights for a membership. These terms do not exclude your statutory rights where a service or digital content is faulty or not as described.
CV Evidence Review purchase terms
£19. One-off payment. A section by section audit with line level annotations, the full requirement matrix, evidence reconstruction prompts, evidence safe rewrites, a prioritised fix list, a PDF and a revision worksheet. One recheck of the revised CV inside 30 days.
What you supply: The CV you want reviewed, the target role and seniority, and your email.
Usually within minutes of payment. Always within 24 hours. A review that fails the evidence checks is held rather than released. Nothing is invented: if the CV does not support a claim, the review says so instead of writing one for you.
Full refund if it does not arrive inside 24 hours, or if the document could not be read well enough to review. Disagreeing with the call is not a refund case. Contact hello@techwaymark.com with purchase questions. These terms do not affect your statutory rights.

The Career Verdict is personalised digital content, £39. It is generated against the inputs you provide. Usually within minutes of payment. Always within 24 hours. A draft that fails the writing checks is held rather than released as if it passed. You get an email either way.
At checkout you tick a box agreeing that production starts at once. By doing so, you acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right that normally applies to digital purchases under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This is standard practice for digital content produced on demand.
Because Verdicts are personalised, purchases are normally non-refundable once the dossier has been delivered. Full refund if it does not arrive inside 24 hours, if a verdict cannot honestly be written for your situation, or if it was generated from broken inputs you could not correct. Disagreeing with the call is not a refund case. Email hello@techwaymark.com.
Hiring Reality Report purchase terms
The Hiring Reality Report is personalised digital content, £99. It is written against the job spec and context you provide. Within two working days of payment. A report that cannot be supported by the brief is held rather than completed from assumptions.
At checkout you tick a box agreeing that production starts at once. By doing so, you acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right that normally applies to digital purchases under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. This is standard practice for digital content produced on demand.
Because reports are personalised, purchases are normally non-refundable once the report has been delivered. Full refund if the brief is too thin to diagnose, or if the report does not arrive inside two working days. Email hello@techwaymark.com.
